Discussion over lunch

Three of my agents were engaged in a diet pill comparison discussion over lunch. It was attracting so many other people into their topic and before they know it, half of the people in the pantry was putting their two cents into the discussion.

This is what I love about the company I am working for. The people are not afraid to voice out their opinions. Every one is open to something entirely different from what they are thinking. Not once have I found myself having a heated discussion about something with a subordinate or a superior. I love that kind of life!

Jamaican wedding

Jamaican Wedding

One of my college buddies will be getting married soon. The wedding will be in Jamaica where he met his bride. They met while on vacation and it took them a little over a year to finally realize that life will be so much more wonderful if they spend it together for the rest of their lives.

I envy them. I hope I can find that kind of love, too. Though now, if you ask me, I am not yet ready to settle down. I am still enjoying life as a bachelor as it is.

Pain from an old injury

One of my uncles is suffering from severe joint pain. He is in the hospital being treated for it. It was brought about by a knee injury that he had checked but didn’t come back for the actual tests. Good thing that he was brought to the hospital right away. There was a clot in one of his joints, or something like that, and it needs to be operated on.

It reminded me of an injury I sustained while playing soccer with my cousins about two years ago. Sometimes, the pain would come up and then after a minute or two, it will go away. I think I will go to the family doctor and have it checked right away. Scared the hell out of me!

Holiday pounds

The past holiday season saw me gaining weight. It’s hectic in the office once again. Going to the gym has to take a backseat or I won’t get any sleep. My sister suggested a fat burner just so I can lose the excess pounds. We’ll see. If I don’t get to the gym again soon, I just might take one.

My sister became a bit obsessed with losing weight. She is afraid of getting sick. She has two kids to take care of so I understand her fear. Not to mention she’s raising her kids alone, working while being a mom, so getting sick has no space in her life now. Or ever for that matter.

Not a fan

I am not a fan of taking any kind of medicine or supplements. My cousin, Rick, who went to live with me for a couple of months was a big fan of supplements. I guess the doctor in him makes him more conscious about his health. He once told me to take an hgh releaser if I want to get bigger. I haven’t tried it yet.

I do take multivitamins. But that’s it. I need it to make sure I have the right vitamins and minerals in my body, especially since I go on a graveyard shift most days.

White water rafting

Whitewater Rafting

My cousins and I will be trying out White Water Rafting at Cagayan De Oro. One of my agents went there with her friends and when I saw the pictures I knew I had to try it. I called up my cousins and talked to them about going there one weekend. We are scheduling it this March. Hopefully, every one can go.

It’ll be fun!

Not for her

The weight loss pills I found in my mom’s bag got me worried. I thought she’s sick or something. Because the pills were not in a bottle or box, I didn’t see the brand right away. It turned out that the diet pills are actually for my aunt who asked my mom a favor to get it from her doctor. The latter is my mom’s friend and when they met for lunch, she took the pills from her.

It’s good to know my mom’s fine. I don’t know what I’d do if something bad happens to her.

Pep talks

Most of the married employees under my team are saddled with mortgages. During my pep talks with each one of them, they tell me their struggle to make both ends meet and at the same time to pay their obligations. But they are happy, even with the hardship of everyday life, because they can see where their paychecks are going to.

Truth is, those kind of pep talks probably inspire me more than I inspire or motivate them. Hardworking people are truly an inspiration to everyone.

Testament to the years of hard work

One of the lady bosses in the office would often tell us about her collection of certified diamonds. It was the product of her years of hard work. She is single and has been independent of her parents since she turned 18. Her diamonds are her only indulgence in life, according to her. It is the testament to all the hard work she did over the years to climb up the corporate ladder.

In my case, my condo unit is the product of my hard work. I plan to acquire another property within the year. That’s where my savings will go.

Businessminded people

I envy one of my agents’ mind. Very enterprising. She checks out outlets where she can get clearance savings and then would resell the items that she got. She gets a tidy profit out of this endeavor of hers.

I am not as business-minded as other people. Some of my cousins have businesses of their own. My mom and my sister are both business-minded, too. I wish I can be like them but I guess we all have our own areas where we are good at. I can say that I am good with anything IT-related.
