Organizing the unit
I am planning to organize my condo unit this coming weekend or the next. I have asked my cousin Mia’s help and she will be coming over with her metal step stools as she can’t reach my overhead cabinets. She will help me organize my small space and make it more roomy for me. I will be discarding old stuff as well as unnecessary clutter I have.
I am listing down items that I will be looking out for. My luggages, gadgets, and some other important stuff I will be packing and moving temporarily to my parents’ house. I will also be getting cleaning supplies and enlisting the help of Jun, another cousin of mine, to help me clean up before the organization with Mia.
I can’t help to have my place organized and cleaned.
Unexpected visit
I was not expecting my uncle and my cousins to come visit me last Friday night. I was tired from work and was ready to go to sleep when they called me up to tell me there were dropping by for a brief visit. Of course, I said yes.
They were in the area because one of my cousins picked up his Sidi Adventure Rain Boots from a friend. They are going on a nature trip this coming month and he asked his friend to order the boots for him online. It arrived last week so since they were having dinner in the area they thought to pick it up and then drop by my place to say hi.
I was so embarrassed because I actually dozed off in the middle of conversation with my aunt! They were all laughing when I opened my eyes after a couple of minutes. They said goodbye after and even though I was trying to stay awake long enough to offer them coffee, they insisted on leaving me to peace. I apologized the next day and they invited me over their place to have lunch with them. I accepted.
Breakfast in bed

What better way to wake up than to a breakfast in bed!
I stayed over at my sister’s house and was treated like a prince. Hahaha! Nah, I was treated like a brother and uncle who was missed a lot. My sister asked what I wanted and she asked her helpers to prepare it for me. Breakfast in bed. Lunch of home-cooked dishes and abundant rice with buko juice. Freshly baked garlic bread for merienda. And seafood pasta for dinner.
I came home the next day a very fat man!
Hahaha!
An uprising in the pantry
There was a commotion at the office pantry last week. The coffee-making machines we have were not functioning as it were still being repaired. The bunn replacement parts were not yet ordered so the machines have yet to be fixed.
You know, in our company, coffee is the bane of our existence. Our bodies function because of the caffeine flowing in our veins. Without it, people will be drowsy and lethargic, or worse, catatonic! That’s why people in the office expect coffee to be overflowing. Always. Every single minute there’s coffee brewing or ready to be drank.
Thank goodness the ‘uprising’ ended a day after. The coffee-making machines are now back to its 100% function and people are happy having their caffeine fix back!
Always ready for an emergency!
My agents are the best! We were talking about emergency measures due to the earthquakes that struck several countries in the past couple of months when three of them spoke out about an emergency kit that they always bring with them. Of course, the operations director was impressed. They were made example of people who are always ready for an emergency. They were given an incentive for being good examples for the rest of the agents of the company.
Can you imagine they have first aid kits with them, flashlights, small packet of biscuits and water, even lithium ion battery for when electricity is cut off!
I was so proud of them and the whole team! I will go treat them to an out of town trip one of these days.
Another shot at life
I managed to open my Facebook account last week and saw a number of old classmates and acquaintances who added me up as a friend. One of those classmates in college was Roy. I remember he was one of the brightest among the batch and had so much promise that the professors were always singling him out for his outstanding brilliance in class. A couple of months before graduation, he suddenly dropped out and the last I heard he was a drug dependent and was drifting in life.
I talked to a common friend of ours and he told me what happened to Roy. His parents died in a plane crash and depression set in. He dropped out because he thought there was nothing in life for him anymore. He got into bad company and became a drug dependent. He drifted until one of father’s siblings with whom he was close to said enough is enough. He was given another shot at life when that very uncle sent him to a methadone detox rehab treatment center.
He came out a year after and he’s a changed man. He finished his degree and found a job soon after. He is now married with two kids and has never been happier in life. Sometimes, all we need is another shot at life.
Going outdoors

I have been inside my home and the office far too much. For the past couple of months I have done nothing but work, work and work, and on weekends, I either go to work some more or go to my parents’ house to sleep and be fussed over by my mom. I realized the other day that I am no longer enjoying the outdoors like I did in the past years. I told my dad we ought to go camping one of these days. He agreed.
We’ll go outdoors this coming weekend. I already filed a vacation leave this coming Friday so that my dad and I can go hiking and camping until Sunday morning.
Rockstar in the family
Cousin Nate is fast becoming the rockstar in the family. He recently joined a band where he plays the electric drum and that band is now emerging as one of the most promising in the local music scene!
Nate has been playing the electric drum since he has in his teens. I believe he got his love for playing drums from his dad, Uncle Bob. Uncle’s been in a band in his youth so we were not surprised anymore that his only son inherited his love for music and playing a musical instrument.
Crushing on Christina Perri
I swear this lady is so captivating both to the eyes and ears that if I have a youtube downloader now I will surely get all her music videos saved in my laptop! I am talking about Christina Perri! The lady behind the soulful song A Thousand Years and Jar of Hearts. I just love that lady’s voice!
I was talking to my cousins about her and I learned that they, too, are crushing on the beautiful lady with the soulful voice. Well, who wouldn’t like her? I do believe the lady can sing you to happiness when she wants to.
The Boys
It took me a week to finish buying gifts for boys. I am talking about my cousins. I think I mentioned several times in the past entries here that I have A LOT of cousins on both sides of the family. My sister and I grew up close to our cousins, treating each other more like brothers and sisters more than cousins. And even now that almost all of us are working and with families already, we still remain close.
We see each other regularly. At least thrice a month. During the holidays, we have a get together and we give each other gifts. It took me a week because I really planned for it and bought stuff I know would make them smile.
I would like to think I succeeded in making them so.
Sad predicament
A co-worker’s relative got into a truck accident. The truck bumped into the van being driven by the relative. The relative suffered a broken hip because of what happened. He has stopped working to recuperate but now he lost his income as a consequence. He wants something done to his predicament so he is up to hire an Austin truck accident lawyer to help him out.
No wonder my co-worker was agitated the past couple of weeks. What happened to her relative really bothered her and she wanted to help so bad. Good thing the relative is pretty independent so even with the accident he can take care of himself.

2012…

I know for a fact that 2012 will be a brighter year not just for me but for everyone around me. My family, friends, love ones, co-workers and the rest of the people I care about. I know because I have hope and my faith is strong.
Are you looking forward to this year like me? Is your outlook as positive as mine?
Definitely not your fault!
Some parents blame themselves for birth defects of their children. What they don’t know is that some of those birth defects can actually be the result of drinking medicines they thought were safe for them. Take the case of Pristiq. Who would have thought that a medicine like that can actually cause harm to a woman’s baby?
If your child is a victim of birth defects caused by Pristiq, go file a Pristiq Lawsuit with the help of the Law Firm of O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath. Their expert legal personnel can help you find justice for what your child is suffering from.

Stay safe!
Last hope
I feel for this woman who was the last hope of her parents. She studied for close to seven years in college. She failed the first three years and was able to succeed in the next four years. But then she was not as lucky in finding a good job. Or maybe she was just not willing to try it out and gave up so easily…
Now, she is looking for Occupational Therapist Jobs. A job that best suits what she learned in school. I hope she succeeds this time around. Her father kept telling everyone that she is their last hope. Too bad her father passed away long before she can establish a name for herself.
A lot more to give
I have a lot more to give to my readers and the potential ones. I have a lot of things to tell you. There are so much more inside me that I want to share in this blog.
But first, I have to sort out everything. I have to organize my thoughts. I have to know which ones I want to share and which ones in my life I’d like to keep private.
Which is which?
Running Christmas eve errands
So the 24th will be another busy day for me. I thought I can relax until Noche Buena at the parents but apparently, my dad is asking me to get a hydraulic hose for his project, which I have no idea what it is.
Work is really exhausting during this time of the year. Peak season. Everyone has something to complain about and ask help for. My agents and I are doing overtime work every single day since last month and I know that like me they are looking forward to some break. I told them that I will let them go on vacation leave but at least two at a time only. I don’t know if I can shoulder three persons’ work at the same time!
After the Christmas eve errands, I can go to the parents house and relax.
Hey, I also have to celebrate Christmas, right?
Warm and dry
It’s that time of the year again when we need to find every stuff that will keep us warm and dry. Winter! Cold season for some countries with snow. I saw a Facebook status update from a friend of mine experiencing show now. She bought boot dryers! She and her family needs it.
I remember experiencing extreme cold when we stayed up in the mountains for a brief period of time. Those weeks we’ve been up there will forever be etched on my mind as one of the worse weathers I’ve experienced in my life. Dry skin, cold to the bones, and cracked lips!
Make sure to keep warm and dry wherever you are.
