Magnitude 8.8 Earthquake hit Chile

A massive 8.8 magnitude temblor hit Santiago, Chile on Saturday. It is one of the largest earthquakes ever recorded. It destroyed buildings, houses, roads, bridges and other structures in central Chile. Authorities believe at least 300 people are dead. The strong quake also triggered tsunami along the Pacific coast.
Let’s all pray for the victims of this quake. Let’s also pray that there won’t be aftershocks anymore. And for the tsunami to stop in its tracks.
Bank giveaway
I love the promotional pens given by the bank. They are giving away pens to their new depositors. Since my cousin is the bank manager, she gave me a bunch of the pens which in turn I gave to my agents. Each pen has a rolling calendar and the ballpoint is just fine.
I am a practical person. If there’s a pen lying around that can still be used, then I pick it up and use it. Or I give it to someone who I think needs one. I don’t really buy expensive pens because I believe all inks are the same.
Kindred soul
I talked to my counterpart in our headquarters and it was a really awesome conversation we had. We talked about a lot of things about work, the industry itself, our positions, the cars being recalled by a famous brand, health insurance in NC as well as life insurance coverage, Hawaii and so much more. It is really good to find a kindred soul.
My counterpart will be visiting the office within the month. It will be good to talk to him again over bottles of beer this time around.
Condo living
I don’t know why people are glamorizing condo living. The truth of the matter is it’s not! It’s hard living by your lonesome. Sure, you have your privacy. But when you are sick, there’s no one to look after you. When you are dead tired from work and all you want to do is eat right away, you go home to a food-less kitchen. You end up ordering take out food or eating instant noodles. Not to mention cleaning after yourself all the time. Nothing glamorous in that, right?
I bought my condo unit as an investment at first. But then I got guilty seeing my parents waking up in the middle of the night to see who’s going in or out of the house. That’s me. I work for a call center and we maintain US hours. So it’s odd hours for my parents. Since the condo unit is near my place of work, I opted to move into it.
It was a tough decision, I tell you. I am used to the comforts of living with my parents. But I am learning a lot from living independently. Although, I should tell those who are envious of us living alone… there’s nothing glamorous in it!
Very own gym
I am envious of two of my friends who have big houses. They built their own home gyms already so they need not go to the gym anymore.
It is a good investment especially since both my friends have younger brothers and sisters. They can all opt to workout at home instead of going out the house. In my case, I think the elliptical I bought a year ago is already enough. Although if I have an option, I would probably invest in my very own gym, too.
Cranky lady
Cranky. That’s the only word I can describe her. She is an overweight person. You can see her chewing something all the time. I think it’s chocolates. Lately, though, you can’t see her can of candies on top of her desk. She’s also snapping at everyone even for the littlest things. We all found out why. She is depriving herself of food! She is on a crash diet and instead of taking it slow or seeking the aid of a weight loss supplement, she thought of just starving herself.
Wrong move on her part. The staff are complaining to the human resources and I think she will get the memo within the week.
Got me worried

I saw the news about the presidentiables and it seriously got me worried. I am worried that the next president will only make matters worse for the country. I don’t see any of the presidentiables really going all out for the country. I think that they are just saying all those things to get everybody’s vote and when they are already in position, will they really fulfill all those promises?
