The Dailies

I saw my ex-girlfriend getting her fill of prenatal vitamins at the pharmacy near my condo unit. She was heavily pregnant already. She smiled when she saw me looking at her. I smiled back at her. I saw a shadow of sadness crossed her eyes. Or maybe it’s just my imagination.

I’ve been hearing that the man she got married to is not good to her. She even told a common friend that it probably would have brought her a world of good had she waited for me. But it’s been done. She’s now married and even though I still feel a twinge of sadness when I see her, I don’t have any plans of wrecking her marriage. She made her choice and we both have to live with its consequences.
