Pissed off with the swine flu!

The Swine flu is really affecting so many people right now. Even some people at work are excusing themselves, going on self-quarantines, just to make sure they have not contracted the dreaded virus. Most of the bosses are also out. I know for a fact that my boss is working at home, scared silly of getting the virus. I can understand him because he’s a new dad and he doesn’t want to put his baby in danger by exposing her to the virus.

I am hoping that this virus will go away soon. Like now! Because if this goes on, our company might see a slump in sales. Worse, people might be cut off from their jobs if they keep on being absent.

My mom

I believe my mom still sees me as the little boy at home. Even now that I’m all grown up and really busy with my own life (work and all), she still calls me up to check on me. She asks me whether I already ate, took my vitamins, had enough sleep. Things like that. I appreciate it, of course. Since I am the youngest, I guess my mom couldn’t get over the fact that I am now living on my own. She even told me that last time we talked that she’s getting insurance quotes for me because she worries I might not be taking care of important things like life insurance and healthcare.

I love my mom. I know that she’ll forever look at me as her little boy. And I won’t get tired of it. Moms will always be moms.

Healthy life

I don’t know anyone in the family who suffered or is suffering from cancer. That’s one of the things I always thank God for. These days, so many diseases are surfacing and we are all prone to it, regardless if we are living a healthy life. An old co-worker’s relative is suffering from colon cancer despite living a very healthy life for the past five years or so before the diagnosis. I was shocked when I was told of it. Another form of cancer I’ve been hearing a lot lately is mesothelioma. This is a type of cancer that is due to asbestos. Imagine that! Most of us are exposed to asbestos and we didn’t even know that a form of cancer can be picked up from it. Living a healthy life? Good! But then, take extra care of yourself and go to regular medical check ups just to be on the safe side.

Fixed and ready to move on

Do you remember my cousin that I told you about in the past? You know, that cousin who got jilted at the altar and decided to move here in the country to fix his broken heart? Well, he is now ready to take a giant leap to a new life. He will be moving back to the states to resume his medical practice there. In fact, he called up several long distance moving companies to check how smooth his move back to the states will be. He is ready to face life again after more than a year of hiding from it. It will be a busy week for him. If I can, I will help him pack his things. I am quite proud of this cousin of mine. Despite the negative result of what his ex-fiancee did to him, he never once said anything bad about her. And he genuinely wishes her well. I am praying that he will soon find the right woman for him.

Still dreaming?

I thought I was still dreaming when I woke up last Sunday morning and found teenage boys inside my condo unit. The boys were using my PS3 and have opened by Wii. I called out but no one bothered to look at me, every single one of them busy with their games. When I grabbed my PS3, the Ps3 looked up and I finally realized who the teenage boys were! My little cousins who came to visit me because I gave away so many things from my closet. Clothes, rubber shoes, and some unused gadgets. Imagine crashing my confusion when I thought I was invaded by the boys to torture me with their noise! lol

Training in Orlando

Finally! I will be going on a business trip to one of our international offices in Orlando, Florida. I will be staying there for one week courtesy of my company. This would be my first time to be going on a training abroad for the company. There will be three of us going there. I am thinking of taking advantage of this Orlando trip. Some of my cousins on my mother side live in Orlando. This will be a perfect time to go for Orlando vacations as well. But then I have to clear it with my boss first. I might extend for three days to visit the cousins but then will have to go back right away after that. We’ll see.
