The Dailies

I think I have written in a previous post that my recent promotion comes with a car allowance benefit. This additional income is actually promised to me by my immediate boss. He told me that as long as I show the upper management that I am working doubly hard and that I am at one with the company’s goals.

I think I was able to prove this to the upper management. Before my official promotion, three executives of the company talked to me about my career direction. They see me as part of the upper management in three years’ time, according to the three of them. It was one of those moments in your life when you feel like you are someone else, looking in. It was an out of body experience. I was so thrilled that the executives see a potential in me. I am working really, really hard to reach my department’s goals which in turn will bring about the company’s goals to fruition.

My dad told me that he started out the same, like me. And look at where he is right now! He is nearing retirement and a chief operating officer of a multinational company! Soon, I will reach even a fraction of what he achieved.
