Babysitting a cousin
Sometimes I get annoyed with babysitting my cousin, Rick. He is still nursing a broken heart and just last week, a broken leg as well. He broke his leg playing soccer with his visiting friends and now that he needs to change his home lighting, I have to go to his pad to do it for him. He can’t do much with him wobbling around his crutches. I have a ton of things to do but since I can’t say no to family, I have to go to his place and do it now.
Giving gifts
My cousin, Jojo, is asking for a pair of Dansko shoes. I have yet to order one for him, though. What I normally do is that I ask my cousins what they want for Christmas. And then I would go buy what they want. Or if it is too expensive, I go for a compromise… I would ask for an alternative. It is my practice to give people what they want rather than give them something I think they would want.
End of day tally
Vi’s boss is looking for suppliers of POS systems. Their company is exploring the possibility of installing a POS system in their five branches nationwide. The upper management wants to be able to monitor the sales on a daily basis without adding an employee to do it or adding to the tasks of the existing branch personnel. They have heard that there is a system that send a tally of the receipts at the end of the day to key persons of the company. That’s what they want.
Selfless woman
Are you also looking for digital signage? My cousin is on the lookout as well. I know about Blackbox.com though so I pointed to the right direction and hopefully my cousin is done with that requirement. She is currently very busy attending to her business while also being very much pregnant with her second child. I actually admire her for still being active when she is heavily pregnant already. If I am in her shoes and my husband can afford it, I would probably be sitting at home taking care of only myself and my baby.
Acting weird
A co-worker is acting weird lately. I noticed that she was usually staring off into space in the middle of a conversation. Or that during lunch time, she would rather take a nap than eat with us. I voiced out my concern to our immediate boss, thinking she might be having problems and she needed our help. But we learned that she’s trying out different diet pills and is into Fentraphen and another brand for the past month and those were the side effects. She was advised to have a medical check-up just in case the diet pills were not good for her. I noticed that she’s back to being her old self for the past two days now. I guess she’s off the pills for now.
From one place to another
Transferring from one place to another can be quite tedious. It will need so much of your time, first from finding a new home and then from packing. After which, you still need to find a reputable moving company who can help you move your belongings from your current home to the new one. And then there will be unpacking and making sure everything is put in the proper place.
Humboldt.com’s Boston Movers services can help you with the packing, arranging, moving and unpacking. They have done these things for so many clients already they can do it in sleep. Remember that in moving, you need a trustworthy company who will not take advantage of you while you are not looking.
A friend of mine will be transferring to a new condominium unit some time next month. She is now looking for a moving company so she can coordinate with them her move. I told her about Humboldt.com and she is looking into them now. She was recently promoted from Finance Manager to the Finance Director of her current company. She is given a condo unit near the office premises as part of her promotion. She is really excited and is anxious to move even ahead of schedule.
Moving as well? Go and check out Humboldt.com now!
Little kids
Most little kids these days want to be someone they see on tv. Ever notice that? If you have a family as large as mine, you will surely notice that a lot. We have little cousins who want to be NFL players with their NFL Jerseys always on them. The little girls want to be Disney stars. Just the other night we watched Camp Rock, the Disney movie starring the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato. The adults were laughing because Anika liked Demi so much she is imitating her way of singing. And some of the little kids love the Jonas Brothers. Imagine 3-6 year old kids knowing so much about those teen stars. Anika, who is turning 3 next month, can even recognize the High School Musical stars. She just loves Disney movies so much.
But the boys, you can see their fierce desire to be rock stars and football players… and to be David Beckham! Beckham they know by heart! The power of television. If adults are veering away from tv and now more into new media like blogging, the kids are still stuck to tv. And with the Hanna Montana fever a few months ago, I doubt it will die down soon.
Me and my work
I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Math with minor in Information Technology. When I was in college, I got envious with my sister because she was already earning her own money. She was working that time already. When I was offered to work for an IT company near the university, I quickly grabbed the opportunity. I was enjoying it so much that I was considering quitting college temporarily and would instead concentrate on work. Plus the lure of the dollar is so great. I was earning money of my own sweat and blood. It was a terribly good feeling.
But my dad found out about my plans of quitting college. My uncle overheard me talking to an older cousin of mine about it. Needless to say, my dad was furious with me. In our family, education is very important. Everyone should graduate in college. And I am no exception. He made me quit my job, made me concentrate on my studies, took my car from me and was taken and picked from university by the family driver, much to my consternation. It was embarrassing but I understood my dad’s anger over my neglect of my studies. I learned my lesson well.
I saw that iCorps.com, a NY IT services company, is offering its services to businesses out there. This is the same work that I had back then. And I would love to work as an IT guy just like what iCorps.com is offering others.
