Handy

It really is very important to take care of your documents, especially those that will prove your identity. I recently had a brush with the law because I was suspected of being another person. Apparently, I look like this guy who is suspected of running over a dog of a well-known personality. I was shocked, to say the least. Imagine being accosted while lining up to go to the moviehouse. Talk about humiliation to the extreme! Thank goodness I have my passport with me that time, a quirk I got from my sister when I learned that she brings her passport with her anywhere she goes. It came in handy because I was able to prove that I am not the person they were looking for.

A family man

It is always a lovely time to spend with a close friend. One of my college buddies dropped by to visit. We got to talk about so many things including his wife and baby boy. He got married about a year ago and now they are blessed with a bundle of joy. He asked my sister about where he can get life insurance quotes because he is now all for investing for his family’s future. Good for him, I said. My sister will be helping him with some investment prospects. I can truly see a family man in him now. Far from the happy-go-lucky guy that I know from college.

Time to open a checking account

I currently do not have any checking accounts to speak of. I have a savings account and a time deposit account but no checking account. Now that I am reading what I just wrote, it’s kind of embarrassing, ‘no? I mean, almost all my friends have their own checking accounts. What I actually do is I pay everything in cash. I pay the bills through online banking. If I really need a check to pay for something, I ask my dad for one. Of course, I give him the equivalent cash.

When my sister knew about this, she scolded me. She told me that I am old enough to manage my own checking account and that I should have one. I cannot continue paying in cash because the interest forgone is a waste of money. She is right, of course.

A friend of mine told me about WaMu. They offer personal checking accounts. I like their Platinum Checking, an interest-bearing checking account that comes with free bank checks and money orders, Plus, it also offers a free Identity Theft Services. Money can be accessed using their Debit MasterCard and through thousands of WaMu’s free ATMs. If you are also interested like me, just go to WaMu.com right away and know more about what they offer.

Facing other people

A person need not be good-looking to make a good impression on someone. He or she needs only to have a clean face. Whatever people say, a person’s face is the first thing others see. So if you have an unclean face, say it has acne problems, better have it treated right away. There is an acne cream that you can put on your face to solve that problem. Other people have pimple problems, premature wrinkles, warts and other skin problems. What is good with this generation is that, there are cures for almost all skin problems that you can encounter. So go ahead and make sure you make a good first impression with a clean face.

An extra camera

I need to get a Canon Powershot. That’s what my sister told me. You know we are going to Las Vegas by next week to attend a family gathering and to do some much needed R&R. Then a few weeks after, we will be going to London for vacation. You see, we already have a couple of cameras with us. But my sister, the OC in the family, would want to be sure that we capture all the special moments so she is asking each one of us to bring along an extra camera just to be sure. And so I will.

Godchildren

Being a Catholic means you will be getting more and more invitation to become a kid’s godfather. Especially in my case that I have numerous cousins and friends who are getting married left and right. And being a godfather, of course, entails a lot of responsibilities. That includes giving something for the kid during special occasions. You know what I did, I stocked on some baby beddings so that whenever I need to attend a christening, I already have a ready gift to give.

You can do this as well if you want. That way you will not worry on what to give should you need to attend a christening all of a sudden.

Teasing

I am overprotective when it comes to my family. So it is no surprise to everyone when I went berserk because I felt like my little cousin was being maltreated. Actually, she was being teased mercilessly about her face. You know how kids undergoing puberty. Pimples pop out left and right. She was being teased by a group of guys in our neighborhood about getting acne treatment so they can see her face beneath the pimples. I gave them some thrashing and put the fear of God in them. Now, they are staying away from her. Apparently, one of the guys has a crush on my cousin and they thought she snobbed him, thus the below-the-belt teasing. Kids!

Crazy weight worries

My girlfriend and I argued a couple of days ago. It was a silly fight that started with diet pills. You see, most of her female friends are into various diet programs and she’s being recruited by all of them. I just can’t see what she needs a diet program for since she is fit and sexy. I worried that she might turn into an anorexic should she embark on a diet program one of her friends is into. Well, before the day ended, we patched things up and she saw the point in my argument. She promised me that she will not go crazy about her weight because there really is no need to.

Naps on a hammock chair

My mom loves to take naps. She especially loves it when she’s in her mini gazebo, surrounded by flowers she and dad planted themselves. And anything to make the old lady happy I will do. So when I saw this hammock chair, I just know that she will love it. It can use the chair in her gazebo and take naps on it. She can even read her favorite books while lounging on the chair. I think I will get one for dad, too. Just in case he also wants one.

Career shift

I am slowly shifting focus to a new career path. I had an evaluation done on me by the human resources department of the company I am currently employed at and they saw a potential in me in the strategic planning department. I was asked to participate the last round and apparently, bosses have been raving about my ideas. In all honesty, I got those ideas from my dad who is an excellent strategist. He has been working as a consultant for various multinational companies and we often talk about his work when we’re together. There will be a market research to be done by this coming month and I will be joining the team spearheading it. I hope I will be of help to the group.

A very practical person

My cousin is a very practical person. She knows her strengths and weaknesses more than the average person. Since she knows that she excels in cosmetology, she sought out cosmetology schools where she can learn more about her chosen profession. And she found Regency Beauty Institute. I gathered from her that this school trains you while it educates you with the rudiments of cosmetology. Training is more than enough to send you out into the world to work for salons, cruise ships and even runways. That’s what my cousin chose. She knows she’s not good with academics but has always been passionate about style.

If you are like my cousin and would like to learn from the best in cosmetology, I suggest you go and visit www.RegencyBeauty.com now.
